City to remove snow from downtown streets Saturday night

The Department of Public Works will begin snow removal operations in downtown Burlington beginning at 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9.

Crews will first push the snow to the center of the streets and then begin hauling it out starting at midnight.  Staff anticipates the clean up efforts to be finished by 6 am.. on Sunday.

Temporary “no parking” signs will be posted during this operation to allow for a quick clean up.

  1. Well at least they are , Lake Geneva sure isn’t…
We Came from the Nice Cleaned off County and State Roads to The Cities Streets , Still with Ice and Snow…

God Forbid to use alittle CMA ..and all that snow with these warm temps would be all gone off the streets by now ! and be alot Safer to drive on too !

Sodium acetate and calcium magnesium acetate (CMA) are dry formulations used as ice melters on bridges and parking decks. They are considered non-corrosive and are biodegradable, creating no problems in runoff water

Of course, It would Reduce the Need to do Snow Plowing and that would Cause Less Hours by Street Dept. Workers to work . Especially Not get OT for working After 5pm and Wknds..

and we can’t have that, now can we?
