Burlington man facing child porn charges

Allen A. Savage

A 71-year-old City of Burlington man is facing six counts of child pornography possession after a search warrant was executed on his property in February.

Allen A. Savage, of 208 Paul St., was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Tuesday. If convicted, he could face 25 years in prison and a fine of $100,000 for each of the six counts.

According to the criminal complaint, City of Burlington Investigator Rodney Thurin was contacted in January of this year by the Wisconsin Department of Justice regarding an undercover operation on child pornography.

An agent of that department advised there was an IP address listed to a home in Burlington, and someone at that residence was participating in distribution of child pornography.

Thurin and city police received a search warrant and executed it on Feb. 9. A number of items of “potential evidentiary value” were seized from the home of Savage, including a computer.

On the computer were six different videos, ranging in length from about two-and-a-half minutes to just over six minutes, all involving children engaging in sexual acts.

The children ranged in age from possibly as young as 3 years old to as old as 14.

When interviewed following the execution of the search warrant, Savage admitted to viewing child pornography at his residence.
