A significant fire department presence – which including the City and Town of Burlington, Rochester, Lake Geneva, Twin Lakes and Lyons fire departments plus various rescue squads – ended up at Nestle USA Friday morning.

According to a press release from the City of Burlington, the city received a report of a fire at Nestle shortly after 4 a.m. There was no active fire, but fire crews found smoke in a cocoa mill collector. The fire there was in a “smoldering phase,” and fire department personnel worked on putting the fire out and clearing out burned materials.

One fire department member and one Nestle employee were transported to Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington for observation. No update was available on their status.
