Fire leads to large presence at Nestles

According to law enforcement personnel, a fire at Nestles Friday morning drew fire and rescue squads for more than two hours.

Shortly after 9 a.m., fire personnel responded to a report of a fire in one of the roasters. At least one mutual aid call went out for fire squads, and Salem rescue brought in to cover for Burlington Area Rescue Squad.

Fire and rescue squad personnel were being cleared from duties at the plant as of about 11:30 a.m. More information will be available in next week’s print edition of the Standard Press.
