Work set to begin on Highway 36

Work will begin next week on Highway 36, stretching from Highway 120 to Westridge Avenue in Walworth and Racine Counties.

The work includes milling of the existing pavement and a new asphalt overly, as well as reconstruction on 36 from Hospital Road to Mill Street. The highway will be accessible to local traffic at all times. A short-term detour will be in effect for about a month between Hospital Road and Mill Street, and the signed detour will follow Highway 120 to Highway 11 and the Burlington Bypass.

The remainder of the project will be completed while open to traffic with flagging. The work is expected to be complete by the fall, weather permitting.
