The snowstorm that has impacted much of Wisconsin today is starting to wind down as of 4 p.m. Tuesday, according to officials with Wisconsin Emergency Management.

There are still pockets that will receive another 1-2 inches of snow this afternoon. The heaviest snow has been reported in western Wisconsin with some areas receiving 8-10 inches. Snow totals in Racine County appear to be in the 6-7 inch range.

The National Weather Service anticipates the Winter Weather Warnings and Advisories will be cancelled after the rush hour traffic. Earlier today, there were numerous reports of slide offs and accidents. Roads are slippery and snow packed and travelers should anticipate slow commutes.

Wisconsin Emergency Management continues to monitor the situation with the local officials and the National Weather Service.
