Burlington resident and cellist Anne McCord joined with the other members of the Lakeview Strings quartet Nov. 24 in the first of a new series of chamber music concerts featuring member of the Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra

The first concert was held at the Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan.

The quartet performed music by Bach, Mozart and contemporary composer David Stone.

Following the Lakeview Strings was a performance by The Prevailing Winds (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn) of seven compositions spanning 200 years, from Joseph Haydn’s “Divertimento for winds” to Paul Dukas’s “Sorcerer’s Apprentice.”

The event also included an optional “high tea.”

The next chamber music concert is set for Feb. 1 at the Holy Communion Episcopal Church in Lake Geneva, and the next Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra concert is scheduled for Feb. 15 at Elkhorn Area High School. Additional information is available at www.lakegenevaorchestra.org.
