Don’t drive if you don’t have to, DOT warns

As snow continues to fall in the southeast region of Wisconsin, travel on area freeways and roadways is becoming increasingly hazardous, according to state Department of Transportation officials.
The DOT is seeing increased run-off vehicles in Racine, Kenosha and Waukesha counties. One lane is currently blocked on I-94 eastbound at Barker Road in Waukesha County due to a crash. One lane is closed on I-94 southbound near County KR for a disabled snow plow.
The DOT warns of low visibility and continued slippery conditions heading into the evening rush hour and deteriorating as the snow continues to fall.
