The Federal Railroad Administration Safety Board held the hearing regarding the City’s application to return it to a quiet zone status on Wednesday, July 10. As of Friday, July 12 at 1 p.m. the City has not received any notice regarding the results of the hearing. The FRA Administrator has indicated that they intend to expedite the ruling, however, the ruling could take up to a week to process and for the City and Railroad to be informed. The City continues to seek an expedited ruling on this matter and will continue to do so until such time as the issue is resolved.

So….. I have to wonder how much of our tax dollars the city is peeing away on all this, when it could of all been resolved by just FILING THE PAPERWORK ON TIME!!!!!! I am sure that the actual number will not be known as it will be hidden/lumped in with some other expenses!!!

  2. A trains horn CAN NOT BE OVER 110 DECIBLES!! Our city leaders doun’t seem interested in even checking to find out what it is in the city!!!

I think that someone needs to sit outside the FRA’s administrators house and blow a train horn. See how long it takes to get rid of this rule that has no common sense. If you are driving and feel the need to go around gates, you deserve the consequences. Don’t dumb down the rules for idiots. Darwin’s rule does apply.
