Cynthia E. Ingwell, 80, of Burlington, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025.
Born in Fort Atkinson on Sept. 13, 1944, she was the daughter of Harold and Mary (nee Jankovich) Gruetzman. Her early life was spent in Fort Atkinson, where she graduated from Fort Atkinson High School and UW Whitewater. On Oct. 14, 1967 at Trinity Lutheran Church, she was united in marriage to Steven J. Ingwell. Following marriage, they made Burlington their home. Steven preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 2014.
Cindy spent a brief period of time as a social worker for Southern Wisconsin Center before becoming a full time stay-at-home mom. She attended Cross Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the hand bell and vocal choirs for many years. She also volunteered at the Burlington Storehouse food pantry. She loved to cook, garden, go antiquing, watch over her cats and take long walks. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Cindy is survived by her children, Brian (Amanda) Ingwell and Jonathan (Leslie) Ingwell; and granddaughter, Claire Ingwell. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Brian Gruetzman.
Services for Cynthia will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Cross Lutheran Church. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow at Burlington Cemetery.
