GEORGE M. LAUX

      George M. Laux, 91, of Waterford, passed away at his home, on Friday April 21, 2023.

George was born on Feb. 22, 1932, in Wauwatosa, to Harold A. and Lenora M. (nee Meyer) Laux. His early life was spent in Waterford, where he graduated from Waterford Union High School.

On Sept. 8, 1951, George was united in marriage to Phyllis Block. Following their marriage they lived in Lyons and Burlington, and have been residents of Waterford for 60 years. George was an auto mechanic. He was self-employed as an owner and operator of a gas station/service/towing. Following his self-employment he also was an auto technician at new car dealerships.

George enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf, and took pride in his yard work. He enjoyed traveling out west for hunting and to Alaska for fishing. He loved to watch sports, especially The Packers and Brewers. He enjoyed being with family. George served for many years on the Waterford Fire/Rescue Department, including 15 years as Captain.

George is survived by his wife; Phyllis; children, Carl (Tammy) Laux, Scott (Diane) Laux, Lori (Dave) Taffs, Eric (Alison) Laux, Tracey Deak, Chris (Pearl) Laux and Tyson “TJ” (Connie) Laux; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; siblings Richard (Darlene) Laux and Dennis (Joyce) Laux; and brother-in-law John (Nancy) Block.

George is preceded by parents, Harold and Lenora Laux; son Jeff Laux; siblings, Harold (Joann) Laux, Betty (John) Hopkins and Donna (Jim) Cotter; brother-in-law Roman Block; sister-in-law Audrey Hansen; and son-in-law Frank Deak III.

Memorials are suggested to Aurora Health at Home Hospice.

Funeral Services will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Charles Parish Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday, April 28 from Noon to 2 p.m.
