Halter leads short-handed wrestling team at Stech Invitational

Short-handed Waterford, which brought just six wrestlers, finished 16th with 51 points at the EH Stech Invitational at West Allis Central Saturday, Dec. 17.

Hudson Halter (12-2) led the way for Waterford with a third-place finish at 126. Halter pinned West Allis Central’s Amadi Cameron in 40 seconds in the third-place match.

Bryce Konwent (12-3) finished fourth at 152. Konwent dropped a 14-5 decision to Coleman’s Micah Kuchta in the third-place match.

Waterford fought off a late surge from Elkhorn and hung on to a 36-27 victory over the Elks, Thursday, Dec. 15

Halter led the way pinning Dylan Jensen in 1:35 at 126. Ramon Smikowski pinned Colton Petrasek in 3:19 at 152, while Konwent pinned Leo Huerta in 3:00 at 160 to round out the top Waterford finishers.
