Racine Park pulls out due to COVID concerns; Union Grove to play in Illinois

Racine Park High School cancelled its non-conference football game at Union Grove Friday because of reported COVID-19 concerns on the Panthers roster.

But the Broncos found another opponent, according to the Union Grove Facebook page, which reported on Thursday the Broncos will play Williamsville High School at Howard Fellows Field, 199 Seventh St., Peru, Illinois.

Opening kickoff of the contest between the Broncos and Williamsville, which is more than two hours from Union Grove, is set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Union Grove opened the season last Friday with a 35-14 win over Racine Lutheran. For complete coverage of that game see the Aug. 27 edition of the Westine Report.
