After a couple of intense matches, especially in postseason play, the Burlington High School girls volleyball came out with a renewed focus in a WIAA Division 1 sectional championship meeting with Muskego.

The Demons, looking for their ninth consecutive WIAA State Tournament berth on Saturday, Oct. 29, at Burlington, overcame an athletic Muskego squad to come away with a three-set sweep, 25-22, 25-21, 25-21 to capture the sectional title.

With the victory, Burlington will make another appearance at the Resch Center in Green Bay, where the fourth-seeded Demons will begin a pursuit of their fifth state championship since 2009 starting with a quarterfinal match on Thursday against No. 5 Chippewa Falls (41-2).
