MARILYN J. GANDER

      Marilyn J. Gander, 91, of Burlington, passed away on May 26, 2022 from vascular dementia. She died in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was known as a very gracious, humble, and caring person who was devoted to her family.

After attending West Bend High School, Marilyn graduated from Lakeland University with a degree in Medical Technology. While attending college, she met her husband, E. Paul Gander. They were married in 1952. Marilyn worked at Deaconess Hospital as a Medical Technologist until her husband’s graduation from medical school. While raising a family of six children, she spent countless hours volunteering and advocating for women’s rights and social justice. She also had a passion for music and used her exceptional creative skills in cooking, baking, gardening, and sewing.

Marilyn is survived by her beloved husband Paul; her children, Debra, David, Dorthy, Donna, Denise, and Dawn; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Gloria and Dan. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Don.

A memorial service will be held at Plymouth Congregational UCC in Burlington on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Lakeland University, Plymouth Congregational UCC, or Love, Inc.
