KAREN L. KOVACEVICH

      Karen L. Kovacevich, 73, of Salem, was born into eternal life on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022 at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha.

Karen was born in Delavan on Jan. 7, 1949, to William and Phyllis (nee Koltz) LaBadie. Her early life was spent in the Delavan and Burlington areas and she graduated from Burlington High School. On Feb. 17, 1973 at St. John’s Church in Twin Lakes, she was united in marriage to Edward Kovacevich. Following marriage, they made Salem their home.

Karen worked as a housekeeping supervisor and loved gardening, especially with flowers. She also enjoyed baking and crafting. She loved animals, especially her many pets throughout the years.

Karen is survived by her husband, Ed; children, Vicki (Bill) Guell, Jamie Kovacevich and Melissa Kovacevich; grandchildren, Drew, Nik and Chad; siblings, Barb (Russ) Kerkman, Bob (Mary) LaBadie, Rick (Cathy) LaBadie and Willie (Mary) LaBadie; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, Feb. 4, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church with Father Sergio Rodriguez presiding. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home.
