PEGGY ANN PEARCE KOSTKA

Peggy Ann Pearce Kostka, of Normal, Ill., just 68 years old, died unexpectedly on Oct. 8, 2021 from a heart condition. The family is deeply saddened by her sudden death. She was born on April 12, 1953, and attended Burlington High School.

Peggy, or “Big Red,” as she was affectionately known, was a phlebotomist at OSF HealthCare. She loved her job and coworkers and life in Normal.

Peggy loved spending quality time with friends and family, especially with her daughter, Jennifer and fiancé and best friend William George Patterson until his passing a few years ago. She loved boating and enjoyed the backyard hot tub and patio that she and George built.

Anyone who knew Peggy was touched by her kindness and contagious laugh. She was truly a wonderful and hard-working woman and was also a true source of positivity.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Hewson, as well as her mother, Shirley Pearce, sister Nancy Toepfer and brother Robert Pearce, as well as her extended family and an abundance of friends. We will all miss her more than words can say.

There will be a Celebration of Life held in her honor from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Bruno’s Restaurant, 730 Cornerstone Crossing, Waterford. Please call Nancy Toepfer at 480-321-5902 with any questions.
