LYNN D. GEBEL

 

      Lynn D. Gebel, 77, of Burlington passed away June 19, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Dec. 20, 1943, to the late Kenneth and Gladys (Beranek) Achuff in Oak Park, Illinois.

Her early life was spent in Forest Park, Illinois. Lynn moved to Burlington her freshman year of high school and met the love of her life, Ron.

On Sept. 23, 1961, she was united in marriage to Ronold Gebel at United Methodist Church in Burlington. Following their marriage, they lived in Burlington where they raised their family.

Lynn was employed at Foster Forbes for many years.

Lynn was a very faith-filled person, she was a member of the United Methodist Church, Burlington, a lifetime member and past Honored Queen of Job’s Daughters Bethel 6 out of Forest Park, Illinois.

Lynn was a diehard Packer fan with Jordy Nelson her favorite and a diehard Brewer fan with Christian Yellich being her favorite player.

Lynn enjoyed gardening and tending to her plants. She was an avid dog lover and enjoyed reading. But more than anything Lynn loved and treasured her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her family meant everything to her.

She cherished the vacations and family time making memories more than anything in the world.

She will be truly missed by her loving husband of 59 years, Ron; her constant four-legged companion, Rusty; children, Tammy (Scott) Hobus, Denise (DeMarco Jackson) Bigelow, Kimberly (Fernando Moreira) Gebel, Michelle (Mike Markiel) Clark, Leslie (Chris) Cody; her “adopted daughter,” Stephanie (Jeff) Scott; grandchildren, Justin (Maria) Willms, Brandon (Erikia) Hobus, Danielle (Caleb Lucht) Hobus, Amanda (Jonny) Bartlett, Aimee (Eric Klug) Bigelow, Adam (Katelyn Palok) Gebel, Kylara Clark, Bryce (Mason Cornelison) Clark, Michael Zwiebel, Melissa (Andy) Kiesow, Marley (Connor Vos) Zwiebel; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Zoe, Awbryn, Declan, Traeton (TJ), Sophia, Ryanne, Jayden, Easton, Aryia, Emma, Maximus, Maverick, Jadd, and two more on the way.

She is further survived by her brother, Kenneth Achuff; god-daughter, Payton Campbell; special family friend, Debbie Glessner; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her brothers, Dennis and Danny.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Lynn’s family.

Lynn’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Aurora at Home Hospice nurses Shelly, Annie and Janay, her CNA Becki, SW Tammy, Chaplain Angie, Pastor Ensor and also her granddaughter Marley for their prayers, dedicated compassion and care during her final days and hours.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 S. Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
