County UW-Extension office moves to Burlington

The University of Wisconsin-Extension office for Racine County has been moved to Burlington.

The office, which provides a variety of agricultural, consumer and social services, is now in the Western Racine County Service Center at 209 N. Main Street.

The telephone number is (262) 767-2929.

The office had previously been located in the county’s Ives Grove complex.

“The move is part of a larger relocation of various county offices that will permit us to more efficiently meet the needs of the Racine County citizens who receive our many services,” County Executive Jim Ladwig said in making the official announcement Monday.

While the move impacts the UW-Extension offices, many of the regular activities and meetings hosted by the extension will still be held in the auditorium at the Ives Grove complex. In addition, the Racine-Kenosha Nutrition Education Program remains in its current location at 1220 Mound Ave., Racine.

The Racine County UW-Extension’s mission includes: empowering youth to reach their full potential; working and learning in partnership while promoting sustainable agricultural practices; teaching safe and proper gardening practices for a beautiful and healthy environment; and creating strong, healthy families that serve as the foundation for community life
