Mark Dudzik EDITOR
The wait for revelers both old and young is only a few days away as the Racine County Fair is scheduled to kick off in fine fashion beginning Wednesday, July 28.
The annual event, which will take place on the fair ground property along Highway 11 in Union Grove, will feature a multitude of contests, demonstrations and animals on parade during its five-day run.
An official opening ceremony for the fair will take place starting at noon on Wednesday.
In addition to the popular Midway rides and games, demonstrations will be taking place throughout the entire four-day run of the festival within the various animal barns.
Those looking for a little levity while attending the fair can find it on Thursday when a rooster crowing contest will be held on the grounds beginning at 8 a.m.
The popular dollar day event is back for another season on Sunday, Aug. 1 when fairgoers can purchase tickets for the various Midway rides for just a buck.
Admission to the fair is $8 for those 14 years and older, $6 for children between the ages of 8 and 13 and $6 for seniors. Children seven and younger can enter the fair grounds free-of-charge.
See the special fair section inside this addition of the newspaper for more information for a complete schedule of events and information about various acts and events.
